City of Bones, Clary Monolugue

Happy Monologue Monday!! I'm sooo sorry I missed last Monday, my life was a little crazy... But today I've chosen a monologue from the book, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, by Cassandra Clare. It's at the climatic point at the end of the book, when one of the characters is breaking, forgetting who he really is, his head overflowing with manipulative lies. The main character, Clary is desperately trying to find the right words that'll convince him to snap out of it, and open his eyes to the reality, or someone she loves will die at the knees of his enemy. The end of the book was very interesting and surprising to me, so here's Clary's  monologue.

City of Bones, Clary Monolugue

Leave him alone! Shutting your eyes and pretending something's not happening doesn't make it not true, Jace. You ought to know better. Why do you have to lie to yourself? You have a family. Family, those are just the people who love you. Like the Lightwoods love you. Alec, Isabelle. Luke is my family, and you're going to make me watch him die just like you thought you watched your father die when you were ten years old? Is that what you want Jace? Is this the kind of man you want to be?

Stele

Happy Fandom Friday!! Today, I've chosen a prop replica I saw, and just thought was AWESOME!!! It's a 'stele' from Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. There's two types they have for sale: a key chain one, and a full size one, but they BOTH light up. Pretty cool! You can get them from Hot Topic, or Amazon. I just can't wait for the movie to come out on DVD and Bluray! Again, Happy Fandomonium Friday, fellow shadowhunters!!

Touch

Happy Trivia Tuesday!!! So today's fact is relating to Physics!! Yeah, it may sound kinda boring... even if it is the main topic on TBBT, but it is pretty cool. Whenever you touch an object, or pick something up... get this, you're not actually touching it!! There's technically a microscopic space in between your hand and the object. The electrons in your hands repel the electrons in the object. They pass heat and electricity, giving the illusion of touch. All our five senses, actually take place inside the brain. It's an ILLUSION!!! So here's something you could do to annoy someone: Place your hand on them and say, "I'm not touching you!"

Here's a helpful website with more info about it:

Free MP3 Site w/ Unreleased TS Songs

So, as many of you may know, my absolute favorite artist, Taylor Swift, has many studio recorded unreleased songs from when she was younger. Some are from demos, some just recorded for albums. So I've found an awesome website where you can download MP3 files for FREE!! And the best part.... it has over 30 unreleased studio recored Taylor Swift songs and counting!! Plus some live versions of unreleased songs, and songs from her albums. There's other songs from other artists as well.
Downloading was so easy. It either saves right to your computer, or opens another link where it plays the song, and you right click to save. All you need to do is re-title the file. Even though it's on MP3 format, I can still get it on my kindle, and on my bluray player through a USB. So, I can listen any time I want! Pretty awesome!!!
Enough of my rambling... here's the link:

Nimoy Napkin

Happy Fandom Friday!!! Today, I've chosen a picture relating to The Big Bang Theory, Season 2, Episode 11, "The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis". In this hilarious Christmas episode, Sheldon is so moved by Penny's gift to him, he actually hugs her!! He received a napkin signed by Leonard Nimoy, saying: To Sheldon, Live long and prosper. Apparently, about a week after the episode was filmed, Nimoy did sign a napkin with the same message. It was later auctioned at Nimoy's charity of choice, The Beit T'Shuvah "Steps to Recovery" Gala, for $1,100. Pretty cool, right? Unfortunately, despite people's and the show's best efforts, including William Shatner in 2010, Nimoy wasn't enticed to make a guest appearance.

Here's a couple pictures of the napkin, and a video link featuring an interview with Jim Parsons about the episode and Nimoy:

On the site, scroll down and click on: The Beit T'Shuvah "Steps to Recovery" Gala (2009). A video and more info should appear.

Gif

Recently, I've discovered what a gif is.... yea, I'm a little late... but it's a magical thing. It's almost like a short clip in the form of a picture. Some genius decided to blur the lines in between, I guess. So, here's some cool ones I found.

Yeah, I went a little crazy finding these, sorry. But, enjoy!! :)

7 Minutes

Happy Trivia Tuesday, folks!!! What I love about Snapple, is it's not only delicious, but all Snapple caps have Snapple facts! So here's Snapple fact #788, something I thought was very cool, because 7 is absolutely the best number in the world!! Here's the trivia fact: The average person falls asleep in seven minutes. That number seems to just pop up everywhere!! :)

Message in a Bottle

What I love about having a blog is it's a place I can just be creative. Whenever I have all these gushing feelings, bursting thoughts, or anything I feel like letting into the world, I write it down. Whether it's about FANDOM, life, or anything else I love, I can set it free. It's like sending a message in a bottle. Chances are no one will read it, but there's the slight possibility that it might just catch someone's eye.

The Bird Scene

Happy Monologue Monday!! Today, I've chosen a very funny 'monologue' that really doesn't have too much of a point. It's from a TV show I loved that centered around theatre and performing arts: Victorious. This monologue is just fun to use with your best southern accent, or if you're bored. I've got it down by memory, and just love to blurt it out whenever it comes to mind. So have fun!!!

The Bird Scene

It was 1934 when my husband left me, alone. Livin’ on the prairie was a dreary existence; no telephone, no radio. Only a large, majestic bird with whom I shared my feelin’s. One day when I was feelin’ low I said to him, "Oh, bird. You can fly. You can soar miles from this lonely place, yet you stay... Why?" And apparently, my question rang true, for that afternoon… my bird left. And so went my spirit.

Happy Trivia Tuesday!! Know any cool trivia? Well, here's a small tid-bid on something coming up... As you  may know, this upcoming Friday is particularly special... it's Friday the 13th... Dun, Dun, Dun!!! And for those of you who have a fear of that certain number, there's a name for that. You have: Triskaidekaphobia -- the fear of the number 13. With that, I hope you're looking forward to this Friday... :)

Warm Bodies Book Monologue

Happy Monologue Monday!! Today, I've chosen an old monologue I did a while ago. It's one of my favorites, written by Isaac Marion -- who beautifully writes words as a true poet in his stories, and paints a clear picture in your head about the reality of the world -- in the book, Warm Bodies.
This monologue is by Perry Kelvin, to R, after the lonely zombie learned to live again. It's a farewell telling R that this is their second chance. The world is changing, life is starting again -- so make something of it...

Perry Kelvin - Warm Bodies, Isaac Marion

I'm going now. I'm sorry I could't be here for your battle; I was fighting my own. But we won, right? I can feel it. There's a shiver in our legs, a tremor like the Earth speeding up, spinning off into uncharted orbits. Scary, isn't it? But what wonderful thing didn't start out a little scary? I don't know what the next page is for you, but whatever it is for me I swear I'm not going to mess it up. I'm not going to yawn off in the middle of a sentence and hide it in a drawer. Not this time. Peel of these dusty wool blankets of apathy and antipathy and cynical desiccation. I want life in all its stupid sticky rawness.

Rock Paper Scissors Lizards Spock

ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS, LIZARDS, SPOCK!!! Many of you may have heard of this awesome game featured on The Big Bang Theory... If not, it's just like the classic game, Rock, Paper, Scissors, only with two added things. Here's the rules:

Scissors cuts paper, paper covers rock, rock crushes lizard, lizard poisons Spock, Spock smashes scissors, scissors decapitate lizard, lizard eats paper, paper disproves Spock, Spock vaporizes rock, and... as it always has, rock crushes scissors.

HAVE FUN!!!!

Fig Newtons

In honor of the very 1st Trivia Tuesday, here's another super cool fact... (well to me at least)

Did you know that Fig Newtons weren't actually named after Sir Isaac Newton? Many think this, but the cookie was really named after a town in Massachusetts -- Newton.

There's something to think about next time you're munching on a Fig Newton... :)) HAPPY TRIVIA TUESDAY!!!

Swiftie Albums Fun Fact...

HAPPY TRIVIA TUESDAY!!! This isn't exactly 'trivia', but it is something REALLY cool. I guess it could count as trivia... so here it is...

To all Swifties, some of you may already know this, but did you know that if you purchase any of Taylor Swift's albums (hard copy), you can decode secret messages?!?! Yes, I know, it's kinda awesome... The secret message can give you a clue to who the song's about, or just a really cool saying. If you've noticed, in the lyric booklet that comes with the CD, all the lyrics are lower case... except for certain letters. If you put all the uppercase letters together in order, then... BAM!! You have the secret message!!!
Below, I've posted all the messages from her 1st, self titled album. The rest are soon to come, unless you want to take a jab at decoding yourself... So enjoy!!! :))

Taylor Swift

Tim McGraw - CAN'T TELL ME NOTHING

Picture to Burn - DATE NICE BOYS

Teardrops on my Guitar - HE WILL NEVER KNOW

A Place in This World - I FOUND IT

Cold As You - TIME TO LET GO

Tied Together With a Smile - YOU ARE LOVED

Stay Beautiful - SHAKEN BAKE

I'm Only Me When I'm With You, Invisible, Perfectly Good Heart - Sadly there are no secret messages for these songs... :(

Trivia Tuesday

I've decided to have every Tuesday a theme day, just like Monday!! Only Tuesday will be... wait for it... TRIVIA TUESDAY!!!! This is where I'll post any cool trivia, interesting facts, or anything the world should know... Just like Mondays, I'll try my hardest to post every week, no promises... So I hope you like it, because I know wayyyyy too many trivial facts... just sayin :))

Watch TBBT Pilot

So I was just googling The Big Bang Theory's "Pilot", and came upon this website where you can view the whole episode for free. AWESOME, right? I found it really useful, since I've never seen this episode, and can't find it anywhere else (on YouTube, or TV channels) :))

Sheldon's Gift Monologue

HAPPY MONOLOGUE MONDAY!!! So this is the 1st official Monologue Monday. I've chosen a very funny monologue from The Big Bang Theory, Season 2, Episode 11, "The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis". Even though it's not Christmas, I still love this episode. It made me laugh the whole time, and ended with one of the sweetest Sheldon moments ever.
When Penny mentions to Sheldon she's gotten him a Christmas gift, he's found himself in quite a predicament...

"The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis", Sheldon Cooper, The Big Bang Theory (211)

You bought me a present? Why would you do such a thing? I know you think you're being generous, but the foundation of gift giving is reciprocity. You haven't given me a gift, you've given me an obligation. The essence of the custom is that I now have to go out and purchase for you a gift of commensurate value and representing the same perceived level of friendship as that represented by the gift you've given me. Ah, it's no wonder suicide rates skyrocket this time of year. Oh, I brought this on by being such an endearing and important part of you life.

Monologue Mondays

So I've decided to start a semi-weekly thing called Monologue Monday. By 'semi' I mean I'll try my hardest to get to it every week. What I plan to do (or attempt) is to post a favorite monologue of mine, or one I've recently discovered (whether it's from books, TV, movies, musicals, plays, etc.), every Monday. Monologues are such a fun thing for me. Despite getting shaky legs, and sweaty palms when in front of an audience, I still love the idea of performing small snip-its from my favorite story lines. This is something I'll have a lot of fun with so I hope you enjoy!!

Soft Kitty

So, here's one of my new favorite lullabies (from The Big Bang Theory), that just I can't get out of my head. I'll admit, I might really be getting into this show...

Soft kitty,
Warm kitty,
Little ball of fur,

Happy kitty,
Sleepy kitty,
Purr, purr, purr...
